Acevia turns your course material into levels that get you ready for your exam. This page says what we keep about you, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
Acevia is the data controller for what this page describes. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we keep
- On the waitlist: your email, university, the course you want to study and, if you say, what it’s for.
- Your account: your name, email, a hash of your password (never the password itself), your time zone, and when you signed in.
- Your studying: your answers and scores, your plans and dates (exams, tests, projects), your mock exams, and the courses you add with their files.
- Running the service: how much AI work was done for you each day (to keep within the daily limits), and short-lived server logs of requests (the page asked for, the time, the result). Logs never hold what you typed, your password or your files.
One cookie keeps you signed in. It’s needed for the site to work, so there’s no cookie banner. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking.
Why
- To give you the service you asked for (the contract between us): building your courses and levels, marking your answers, planning your path to the exam, and emailing you invites and password resets.
- To keep it running safely (our legitimate interest): limits on sign-in attempts and on AI spending, and fixing errors.
- The waitlist: to let you in when there’s a place, at your request.
We never sell your data, and we never use it to train AI models.
Who else sees it
Only the services Acevia runs on, each for its own part:
- AI model providers receive the parts of your course material and your written answers needed to build levels and mark them. They may process them outside the EU.
- OVHcloud hosts the server and the database, in France (Strasbourg).
- Cloudflare carries the traffic to the site and stores our nightly backups.
- Resend sends our emails (invites, password resets).
Where data leaves the EU, it’s covered by the providers’ standard contractual clauses.
How long
- Your account and everything in it: until you delete it.
- A waitlist entry: until you join; if we decline it, 30 days.
- Backups: each is kept up to 4 weeks, so deleted data is gone from them within 4 weeks.
- Server logs: a few days.
- The daily AI usage figures stay, without anything that says they were yours.
Your rights
You can see, correct, take a copy of, or delete your data, and object to or limit how we use it. Delete your account from Your account: it removes everything at once. For anything else, email us and we’ll answer within a month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live (in Portugal, the CNPD, cnpd.pt).
Age
Acevia is for university students. You must be at least 16 to use it.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we’ll email you before it applies.
